Internal Mixing Tutorial Volume I and II
Internal Mixing is an essential resource for disk recording application users who do their mixing mainly inside their workstation. Providing hands-on strategies for using computers to make powerful, clear and perfectly balanced mixes, Internal Mixing supports you in creating them without using expensive outboard equipment. Internal Mixing includes English, French, Spanish and German soundtracks.
With more than 160 minutes of video in Volume I and over 180 minutes of video on Volume II, Internal Mixing covers tried and tested methods for achieving that often elusive sound known from professionally produced CDs and DVDs. Covering a huge range of issues surrounding mixes, Internal Mixing offers valuable imnsights into topics such as native and DSP-based plug-ins, the concepts behind positioning instruments and voices within a three dimensional sound field, frequency spaces, optimized mixing workflow and much, much more.
About Internal Mixing
Internal Mixing is a platform-independent course that offers a wealth of information, hints and practical examples for mixing multitrack recordings within a computer. The step-by-step approach to mixing guides through a variety of techniques used by professional engineers to achieve the clarity and transparency often heard on CDs and DVDs. Internal Mixing uncovers the concepts behind proper placement of instruments within the mix. A powerful, yet three-dimensional sound is not achieved by usage of tons of expensive plug-ins but by separation of instruments and voices. Internal Mxing also shows that outstanding results can be achieved even without using expensive outboard gear, and just by making good use of the host application’s internal plug-ins.
Going step by step from understanding some of the concepts that can help form a great mix, Internal Mixing gudes through organizing workflow and the application of basic plug-ins like EQ and Compressors. Internal Mixing also covers the usage of DSP-based plug-ins and offline rendered plug-ins, e.g. for convolution reverb.
Internal Mixing provides exercises to supprt learning for the concepts involved. Each exercise can be followed step by step and guides through the chapters for a joyful and satisfying learning experience.
Internal Mixing has been filmed in HD-Video and uses latest codec technology. The 340 minutes of content on Volumes 1 and 2 as well as the screen capturing are provided in four languages – English, French, Spanish and German.
